The practice arena

Make theory automatic.

Sixty-second sprints across 12 arenas, a tempo rating that only rises when you get faster and stay accurate, boss rounds to conquer, and boards where your whole class competes.

60-second sprints

Beat the clock

  • 60 seconds of thinking time. The clock pauses while you read feedback, so mistakes teach instead of cost.
  • Right answers in a row build a ×2, ×3 and ×4 combo. A miss drops one tier, never the whole streak.
  • Questions get harder after three right in a row and ease off after two misses, so every sprint sits at your edge.

Theory Tempo

Your speed, as a tempo marking

  • Your rating is how fast your theory plays, in beats per minute, from your best recent sprints.
  • Ten ranks, from Grave to Prestissimo at 200 BPM, the pace of a fluent musician.
  • Guessing does not help: accuracy is built into the rating.

Class competitions

The whole class, racing together

  • The main board ranks improvement this week, not raw speed, so a beginner can beat the class star.
  • Teachers set class challenges, such as everyone to 130 BPM in Key Signatures, and watch the class get there.
  • Boards use stage names only, and stay off until the teacher turns them on.
