Last updated: August 26, 2026

These terms govern your use of the Music Theory Lessons Academy at musictheorylessons.net, including course access, account features, Google sign-in, and academy subscriptions.

Agreement

By accessing or using the Music Theory Lessons Academy, you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

The service

The Music Theory Lessons Academy provides comprehensive online music theory education for adult learners, from fundamentals to advanced harmony. The curriculum includes video lessons, interactive quizzes, downloadable worksheets, and community forum access. Features may change over time as we improve the product. We may add, modify, or discontinue features with reasonable notice when practical.

Accounts

Access to course content requires an active subscription and account. You may sign up with email and password or through Google sign-in. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and for activity under your account.

You must provide accurate information and keep your account details up to date.

You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority in your jurisdiction, to create an account.

Acceptable use

You agree to use the Music Theory Lessons Academy only for lawful personal educational purposes. You may not:

  • Attempt to access another user's account or our systems without authorization
  • Reverse engineer, scrape, or bulk-export the service in ways that compete with it
  • Share your account credentials or resell access to the academy to others
  • Upload malicious code or interfere with the service's operation
  • Use the service in violation of applicable law or third-party rights

Personal and educational use

Your subscription grants you personal access to course materials for your own learning. You may download and print worksheets for personal study. You may not redistribute course videos, lesson content, or worksheets as a competing educational product or publish them publicly without our permission.

Subscriptions and billing

Paid academy subscriptions are billed through Stripe on a recurring basis until canceled. Prices and plan features are shown at checkout and on our pricing page.

You may cancel anytime from your account preferences or the billing portal. Access continues until the end of the current paid period. Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis — contact us if you have billing concerns.

Intellectual property

Music Theory Lessons owns the academy platform, course content, videos, worksheets, website, and branding. Your subscription grants a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access the academy for its intended educational purpose.

You retain ownership of any notes or original work you create while studying, subject to these terms and our rights in the underlying course materials.

Disclaimer

The Music Theory Lessons Academy is provided "as is" and "as available." We strive for accuracy in music theory instruction, but we do not guarantee that every lesson or quiz is error-free or suitable for every learning goal. You are responsible for evaluating whether the course meets your educational needs.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Music Theory Lessons and its operators will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits or data, arising from your use of the service.

Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim or (b) fifty Canadian dollars (CAD $50).

Termination

You may stop using the service at any time by canceling your subscription. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these terms or if we discontinue the service. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination — including intellectual property, disclaimers, and limitations of liability — will survive.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Courts in Ontario will have exclusive jurisdiction over disputes arising from these terms or the service, except where applicable law requires otherwise.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. We will post the revised terms on this page and update the "Last updated" date. Material changes take effect when posted unless we state otherwise. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated terms.
